17 DAVID L. CALHOUN has been appointed manager of production planning and materials in the Ecus- ta Paper Division. He had served as superintendent of finishing since April 1974, and prior to that was superintendent of Ecusta’s Winding and Calendering operation. He was employed by Ecusta in June 1968 as an in- dustrail engineer, and was ap pointed operating programs coordi nator in 1971. A native of Crossett, Ark , where he graduated from Cros sett High School, he worked with Georgia Pacific Corp, at Crossett before joining Olin. He served in the U. S. Air Force as a satellite control officer and as a management engi neering team chief, attaining the rank of captain. Calhoun earned his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Tech nology where he was a member of the cross country team, the Inter Fraternity Council, and was a colonel in the ROTC program. He was president of Theta Xi fraternity. He is a senior member of the Amer ican Institute of Industrial Engi neers. Forest and J. S. CARPENTER has been ap pointed purchasing manager for pulp in the Fine Paper and Film Group. He has responsibility for purchase of pulp for Film Division’s cellophane manufacture at Pisgah Covington, Ind., and for Ecusta Paper Division’s produc tion of wood-pulp papers at Pisgah Forest. Prior to this move he was purchasing agent for the Film Di vision plant at Pisgah Forest. He was employed in October 1939 for cost accounting in the former Ecusta Paper Corp., and moved into the Ecusta Pur chasing Department seven years later where he worked as a buyer. He was appointed purchasing agent for the new Film operations in 1951. Earlier work was with the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. Carpenter is a member of the Purchasing agement Association of the linas-Virginia, Inc. Man- Caro- WILLIAM W. JAMESON has been promoted to superintendent of fin ishing in the Ecusta Paper Division. Employed by Ecusta in July, 1967, Jameson worked in the Industrial Engineering De partment until he was appointed maintenance con trol supervisor in 1968. He became converting super intendent in 1972 and was promoted to superintendent of the Materials Department last year. Before join ing Olin he worked with the Dayco Corporation at Waynesville as an industrial engineer. Jameson at tended schools in Canton and grad uated from Wake Forest University with a B.B.A. degree in Industrial Management. He is a native of JOHN L. KEIFER has been appointed regional manager for Latin Ameri can sales of the Fine Paper and Film Group products. He was interna tional technical manager for Film Division specialty products. Em ployed as a film engineer in the New York office in January, 1958, he moved to this area in 1963 with relocation of the Marketing Depart ment to Pisgah Forest. He has served as quality service supervisor, technical ser vice manager and national account executive. He was employed pre viously by Equitable Paper Bag Company and General Foods Corporation. A native of Reading, Pa., he graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadel phia and received his B.S. degree in Biology at Mt. St. Mary’s Col lege, Emmitsburg, Md. He also has studied packaging engineering at Columbia University and accounting at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Among professional associations he is a member of PMMI. Haywood County. He has served as treasurer and secretary of the local chapter of the American In stitute of Industrial Engineers. service engineer. CHARLES A. BRENDLE has been appointed regional manager for European and Canadian sales of Fine Paper and Film Group products. He had served as international ac counts supervisor in the Ecusta Paper Division since July 1974. Prior to that he worked as a sales man in the Specialty Sales Depart ment and was promoted to western regional sales manager in 1972. He has been with Olin since April 1968 when he was employed as technical Earlier sales ex perience was with Proctor and Gam ble. He served four years with the U. S. Air Force. A native of Winston - Salem, he graduated there from the James A. Gray High School. While at The Cit adel, where he earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration, Brendle was named to the All-Southern football squad and received honorable mention in the Associated Press All-American selection. He was listed in Who’s Who and Outstanding Young Men of America, and was executive of ficer in The Citadel's military organ ization. CHARLES B.
